About Us

CADler AI was co-founded in 2024 by Jonathan Hutchins, a former steel detailer with a formal education in computer science.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jonathan began working with SteelFab in Charlotte. There, he began creating automated solutions to the time-consuming issues he encountered while working in this role.

Jonathan noticed a specific recurring inefficiency in his workflow. He realized that steel detailers must spend hours manually creating models in Tekla Structures from reference Revit documents. He invented CADler AI to automate this process.

Today, CADler AI offers one software product with two automated solutions: the Model Maker and the Estimator. The software is designed to save steel detailers, as well as estimators, many hours per week.

Field tested for 6 years on the jobsite, CADler AI is fully developed and here to automate key tasks of the construction and steel industries.
